Jun 29 (Mon) Grand Tetons

Fortunately the Grand Teton National Park is much smaller than Yellowstone so it doesn’t take so long to get around.  Having said that…we packed a lunch and headed out…still spending most of the day driving around the park.
The mountains are stunning with almost no foothills to speak of so it’s “Boom”…there are the mountains right there in your face.

We stopped at a picnic area near the Snake River and the dam.  The cottonwood trees were blowing cotton everywhere.  There were mounds and mounds around the picnic area.

We also drove up Signal Mountain (maybe named because there was a communications tower at the top???).  There were great views of the valley of Jackson Hole but not so much of the mountains…faced the wrong way.

There are a lot of wild flower blooming everywhere.  Wildflower photos – Mary’s obsession.

On the way out of the park we stopped at the visitor's center.  It had a wall of windows looking out onto the range.  Really awesome.

Mom was having a few issues so Mary took her to the emergency room this evening…turned out to be nothing serious so she was home by bedtime.
